The Integrated Behavior Model (IBM) is a framework for understanding and influencing human behavior centered around intention (or motivation). It is an expanded version of two influential early models, the Theory or Planned Behavior (TRB) and Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA).
The IBM presumes a fair degree of rationality and executive control in construction of intention. The model also accounts for demographic factors and environmental influences alongside habit and capability. As with the model's two predecessors, it is primarily known within the area of health behavior change.
